Food Access

The Beacon Farmers’ Market accepts SNAP, and FMNP/WIC benefits

Greens4Greens

Greens4Greens is a food benefit incentive program, started in 2016, that creates greater food access for shoppers at the Beacon Farmers’ Market, the Newburgh Farmers’ Market, and the Common Greens Mobile Market. Eligible state funded food benefits are matched dollar for dollar through Greens4Greens, making the farmers’ market more accessible to a wider base of consumers. The program has been completely community funded through contributions made by local businesses as well as the annual 'Soup4Greens' event.

Our 2021 Soup4Greens event raised nearly $4000 thanks to the generous soup donations from twelve restaurants and five potters who donated bowls. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a success: Homespun Foods, Beacon Natural Market, The Beacon Daily, Beacon Pantry, Végétalien, The Bagel Shoppe, The Yankee Clipper Diner, The Green Bowl Cafe, Party Animals Catering, Eat Church, MomoValley, Kitchen & Coffee, All You Knead Artisan Bakery, Key Food Beacon, Carine R. Feist, Jennifer Dorshorn of the Daily Digestible, Virginia Piazza Pottery, New Prospect Pottery, Afton Road Pottery, Elephant Belly Pottery, The Newburgh Pottery, Justin Conway, Beth Poague, Diana Cowdery, Margo Sivin, Jesse Stacken, and Meredith Hairston.
